ABOUT US
The Marquette
Area Jaycees help out the Marquette area community by
providing assistance with local charity events and hold
community awareness events.
The biggest charity event that the
Marquette Area Jaycees sponsor is the Indoor Softball
Tournament. This year's tournament will be held at the
Marquette Superior Dome during February 26th-29th. All
proceeds from the tournament, raffle, and booths go to
help Area 36 Special Olympics.
Other Charitable event's that the
chapter participates in is the annual Bowl For Kids Sake
for Big Brother & Big Sisters.
The chapter also hosts our car safety
clinics which are were held twice during 2003. 80% of
the vehicles that were inspected had child safety seats
improperly installed.
Another event that was held on a national
level was the USOEC Olympic Speed Skating Event. The Jaycees
rallied to help with the event by coordinating special
needs and event information for the athletes as they arrived
to the Marquette Area as-well-as provided them with assistance
in directions to local hot spots while visiting the Area.
As our chapter continues to grow we
will support more local events. If there is a special
need that your organization is in need of don't hesitate
to contact the Jaycees to see
if we can be of assistance.
